Dining Out Gluten-Free – Gluten-Free Fast Food Picks

Living a gluten free life nowadays might seem like a bit of a concern, particularly with the advertisements for delicious looking fast food staring you in the face anywhere you go. Astonishingly, there are fast food places out there that provide several gluten free alternatives that may not seem perfect. Wendy’s, McDonald’s, and Taco Bell all present at least a few choices. As shocking as it may be that gluten free people can easily still eat out with everyone else, you will find loopholes in a variety of menus that permit for just that. This article will examine the options out there that might or might not be so obvious.

For gluten free choices at McDonald’s, you can simply check out foods without the buns, biscuits, McGriddles, and poultry. For breakfast, that could incorporate a “big breakfast”, consisting of hashbrowns, eggs, and sausage, together with a biscuit you just do not have to consume. For lunch, McDonald’s has some good chicken salads that you can basically get minus the chicken. There is a regular Caesar and tossed salad, in addition to walnut salad, fruit and a southwest salad on the menu. On the down side, the french fries at Wendy’s are not gluten free. Wendy’s does indeed have a wide range of side items to pick from which are gluten free, that McDonald’s doesn’t. Baked potatoes, cups of chili, mandarin oranges, side salads, and strawberry yogurt are extremely popular gluten-free possibilities that you could find at Wendy’s. There’s even a gluten free southwest taco salad which is offered with lettuce, cheese, vegetables, chips, source cream as well as chili. These options, capped off with your preferred beverage, provide you with balanced meals which are free of gluten completely.

If you wish to go to Taco Bell for your gluten free fast food experience, you only have a number of options available. These alternatives, however, are quite filling, so you may at least make a meal out of them. The Southwest steak bowl can be a robust option, although a few Taco Bells have taken that off their menu these days. If yours still offers it, the bowl consists of beans, rice, steak and cheese, al covered in a rich, spicy sauce. There are also a few side items that are acceptable such as the pintos and cheese or mexican rice together with tostadas. The alternatives for a fast food gluten-free experience are out there. You need to simply be aware of where to check.  Dropping a couple of gluten free recipes here and there probably wouldn’t hurt either.
