Health And Fitness To Grow Old And Live Well

Posted on May 16, 2010 under Health, Men's Issues, Nutrition, Women's Issues | No Comment

Most people desire a long healthy life. After all, why grow old is you are so sick and in pain that you cannot enjoy those golden years. There is no time like the present to begin a health and fitness program that can improve both your quality and length of life.

One of the best ways to get fit is to focus on muscle growth. Since it takes more calories to nourish a pound of muscle than it does to nourish a pound of fat, when you add muscle, and keep eating the same way you always have, you have put your body in a calorie deficit that will automatically cause you to lose more fat. While fat cannot be directly turned into muscle, increasing muscle can cause you to lose fat.

To improve health on an overall basis, you have to begin a regular means of exercise. Joining the YMCA or a gym can be an effective way to get started. These programs allow you to work out in a controlled environment and give you access to exercise equipment that would be expensive to purchase for home use. In addition, you may have access to swimming, spas, saunas and a variety of exercise machines. The weather rarely will stop your routine.

Exercise is possible without a gym membership. The key is getting your body to move. Try jogging or even walking on a regular basis. Very little equipment is needed. If you prefer, try riding a bike on a regular basis. Just remember to use the correct safety equipment to protect joints and your head. A black helmet will prevent brain injury and knee and elbow pads can protect these important joints.

If you are fighting a battle with joint pain, consider swimming or warm water exercises. The water supports your body weight so that you can do more with less stress on those sore joints. If your program causes you to lose weight, then there is less stress on the body.

Once you develop an exercise program and begin to see results, you will find that exercise does not have to be drudgery, but can be enjoyable. It can improve your self-image and can help you to feel better. Once you begin to feel better, you may want to think about how to break 80, 90 or 100.

The reality of life is that none of us know the number of years we have left. If we take care of our bodies, we can find that the remaining years can be enjoyed in good health.

Why Doing Cardiovascular Exercises Is Important For Men

Posted on Apr 16, 2010 under Cardio, Fitness, Men's Issues | No Comment

There are many benefits you get from performing cardiovascular or aerobic exercises. It strengthens your heart and lungs, so your circulation and respiration become more efficient. You also lessen your risk for getting certain diseases linked to obesity, like stroke, diabetes and cancer. It’s also a great way to relieve stress and pain.

Doing aerobics spikes up your metabolism. You get to burn fats not only when working out, but also when at rest. For men who are trying to body build, this is best paired with regular weight training exercises. Layers of fats over developing muscles are eliminated, so they appear to be more defined.

Compared to pumping iron at the gym, cardiovascular exercises are not repetitive and boring. It’s because you got plenty of routines to choose from. What’s important is you maintain for at least 20 minutes an increased heartbeat rate. To help you out, you can wear a digital sport watch with a heart rate monitor feature. Remember to do it at least thrice a week for results.

To have one that’s custom-made for your needs, you may hire a fitness trainer to give you a cardio program. To help you stick to your schedule, put on a men’s sport watch. Religiously following your program will ensure you’re doing the right things. Usually, it’s based on determinants, like your lifestyle, fitness and health condition, age and others.

You should know that cardiovascular work outs can be categorized into weight-bearing and non weight-bearing. Weight-bearing cardio is doing routines while your body weight is supported by your legs. Some examples include jogging, jumping rope and step aerobics. Although high impact, your bones will be able to absorb calcium much better.

On the other hand, non-weight bearing work outs are those wherein your body is supported. They provide lesser impact on your joints, especially your ankles, knees, hips and back. Some examples are: biking, swimming and rowing.

While weight-bearing work outs put more stress on your joints, it doesn’t mean that non weight-bearing work outs are much safer. No matter what you pick, if it’s necessary for the work out, wear protective equipment. Depending on your routines, you may need to don a helmet, goggles, shoulder and knee pads, and others.

On that note, see to it that you’re wearing the right protective equipment for the right work out. For instance, the protection a biking helmet provides is different than that of a giro ski helmet. Also, invest in quality protective equipment, so as not to put yourself at risk of injuries. Part of doing cardiovascular work outs is doing them properly and safely.

How Do You Get Rid of Man Boobs?

Posted on Mar 23, 2010 under Dieting, Men's Issues, Nutrition | No Comment

What is one of the most unpleasant things you can think of having? Man Boobs (or ‘moobs’ for short), make a man feel unattractive and ugly. Talk about having your confidence take a dive! Men that have man boobs do not want to remove their shirts to swim or workout (not to mention the more ‘intimate’ activities)!Males feel that they are unattractive to the opposite sex, whether or not it is correct. Do not fret, there is help for this. You can dump those man boobs!  Keep reading….

One source of man boobs may be something called “Gynecomastia’,which is essentially the overdevelopment of the male breast. This is triggered by an surplus of female hormone, or a deficiency of male hormone called testosterone. This triggers the breast tissue to swell. If you think that your man boobs are a result of gynecomastia, instead of being overweight-it would be best to ask your physician.

Gynecomastia usually happens during puberty, but being overweight is one of the most frequent reasons why men would develop breasts. Men tend to gain weight around their midsection, but many will store this fat around their chest area. Sometimes medications are to blame, by decreasing the production of testosterone,  or increasing the production of estrogen.

Some find that if they add flaxseed oil to their diet, it helps with burning fat in the chest area. It also will help keep you regular. Of course, you need to eat a balanced diet including vegetables, fruits, and lean meats. Drink loads of water! It is a great appetite suppressant, and clears contaminants out of your body. Watching what you eat is very important, if you want to lose man boobs. Eating foods that assist you in burning fat is even better.

Get Rid of Man Boobs

Anaerobic exercises are a must if you want to lose the weight in your chest. You have to target the man boobs, and destroy them! Performing weight lifting exercises will help you tone your chest, and burn that fat. One of the best workouts is to use the incline bench press. You will tighten the flab around your nipples, and develop a greater amount of muscle mass this way.

Herbal supplements are endorsed by some to reduce man boobs. Make sure you research any of these goods before you buy them, and make sure you are getting the best products, and not squandering your cash. Some can be potentially unsafe, depending on the ingredients, so speak with your physician before taking these (especially if you have any health issues).

No one wants to have man boobs. Don’t despair, you can get rid of them! Just take it slow, and eat the right diet combined with the right exercises and you will make it to your goal.

Don’t Give Up, Lose Those Man Boobs!
