Ways to Burn Fat by Eating Food

Posted on Mar 06, 2010 under Dieting, Nutrition, weight loss | No Comment

We still don’t have an accurate way to determine how much protein is best to consume for muscle mass, in spite of the numerous studies on the subject.Appetite suppression is a key benefit of protein: that much is for sure.

Fat and carbs don’t quench appetites as much as proteins do.Attempts to keep the same weight are also aided by protein according to a group study. This might be what you read on a weight loss forum.

This study compared people on controlled diets, one of protein and the other of a control group. The only difference in the diets of the two groups was in the protein of the one group.

The best results for weight were found in the group with the most protein.

Scientists have shown us that protein boosts metabolism, in a process called dietary thermogenesis. This had a positive result on body composition because the people with the most protein gained muscle tissue while losing fat.

The effect on tissue builds upon that because muscle itself takes more calories to maintain. As far as calories go, they are always going to be key when discussing fat loss, but body builders know that they are more than just fat.

The ratio of protein and carbs has just as much to do with body composition as calories do. This could be key in learning how to lose weight fast.

It’s only about 20% more protein that has made remarkable improvement in the research subjects. When you consider that many power diets employed these days call for up to 40% of total calories per day to be protein, it makes you wonder if increased protein will be proven to be even more effective in improving body composition. Still, the lesson we have learned is clear: lowering carbohydrate intake and increasing protein intake can significantly reduce appetite and burn fat.

Easy Ways to Balance Nutrition and Training

Posted on Mar 06, 2010 under Nutrition, Weight Training | No Comment

There always will be those who think nutrition is of greater significance than is training.Proponents of exercise will then argue that training is more important.

Because they depend on each other, we have to say that exercise and diet are both essential to health and fitness. This might even be a three-way situation where cardio should be included with weight training and diet.

To neglect one in favor of the other is going to leave your body and your efforts off balance. You have to be attentive to your weakest areas of course.

For example if you are still eating processed foods, you’ve got to take care of that problem You can do six pack ab exercises all day and the food you eat will still undermine your efforts. But still, you need to work to make sure your nutrition is constantly improving while you’re getting the most out of your strength and aerobic workouts. You will get better results from a better diet and from better exercise.

Generally speaking, however, beginners will get the most benefit from addressing nutrition. But then again, beginners will profit from training too: see what I mean?

Experienced people will have a handle on a proper diet and good workout practices. This might be what you’ve read on a weight loss forum.

We’d have to trust senior personalities in the fitness industry to make a call – if necessary – as to whether nutrition or training is the most important. While they emphasize a balance between the two, most will come down on the side of nutrition. One strength coach says that an advanced weight trainer might use up to 300 exercise variations to adapt to a routine within a couple weeks.

Nutrition on the other hand takes a lot longer to take hold in a lifestyle, so if attention to it lapses, it could take months to recover. As we’ve seen how that exercise and nutrition are both important, nutrition wins out in the end.

Good Trans Fats Can Help You To Lose Weight Fast

Posted on Feb 17, 2010 under Dieting, Nutrition, weight loss | No Comment

You may not realize that there are good and bad trans fats, with a difference between them.Evidence suggests that good trans fats help with muscle building fat loss and cancer prevention.  Some ways on how to lose weight fast also involve healthy trans fats.

On the other hand you have bad trans fats the calls heart disease diabetes Cancer and body blubber. The news recently has had a lot to say about how artificial trans fats are bad for human health.

You probably already know that I’m opposed to most food additives especially artificial trans fats. The amount of trans fat in the food is now part of the nutrition label is mandated by the FDA. This makes it easy to avoid foods that have trans fats, but it’s important to keep in mind that there is such a thing as good trans fats.

Bad trans fats

The man made the kind of trans fats are the bad ones, artificially hydrogenated oils.

The main problem areas here are shortening hydrogenated oils in processed foods deep fried foods and margarine. These oils are processed using chemical solvents like hexane which is actually part of gasoline and then are bleached and deodorized.

Although the dangers of these oils are well documented (they sound more like industrial world and food), the FDA still allows large quantities of it to be put in our food.

Your arteries get clogged because the hydrogenated oils trigger inflammation that causes cholesterol to build up in your arteries. This partially explains the outbreak of heart disease we’ve noticed over the past several decades. Someday these hydrogenated oils will be outlawed because they’re so dangerous, and they should be.

Unfortunately those food manufacturers were phasing out hydrogenated oils or replacing them with polyunsaturated oils that are highly refined. So the replacement for hydrogenated oils is almost as bad as the hydrogenated oils themselves because they have so many artificial chemicals. This is why healthy foods to eat are so important.

Good trans fats

Now that we’ve exposed what’s going on with man-made trans fats, it’s time to emphasize that there is such a thing as good trans fats that are natural. These natural trans fats are formed by its cattle sheep and goats in the stomachs and eventually transfer into their fat. This means that fats from these animals and their milk is the natural source of healthy trans fats. These trans fats are thought to have tremendous benefits in muscle building and fat loss.

When you go looking for these healthy trans fats you must remember that the mass production techniques and raising these animals in the foods given to them greatly reduce the amount of natural trans fats they produce.Because of this people tried to make pills that can give you natural trans fats such as conjugated linoleic acid privacy CLA) but is really don’t work out very well compared to the natural sources.

Getting back to the labels you need to remember that the amount of trans fats listed on me for dairy products probably references good trans fats as we have discussed them. You should stay away from food that has trans fats listed on their labels if they are processed foods, because those trans fats are most likely to be the dangerous type from artificially hydrogenated oils.

Simple Steps For Simple Weight Loss

Posted on Feb 03, 2010 under Dieting, weight loss | No Comment

If you’re trying all you can to sculpt your body into something more resembling a Greek God rahter than a Greek wedding, you should not only be exercising but dieting as well. Creating a weekly workout plan will help to supplement your diet in order to create a fitter body at a faster rate. Pay attention because I’m about to share some ways that you can shed weight quickly.

You might be wondering, though, what exactly you should do during your workout in order to ensure that you’re making the most of your exercise time. Let’s look at some helpful tips to get you started.

Cardiovascular activity is of the utmost importance if you want to shed the fat around your thighs and midsection. Diet can be helpful in this regard, but without exercise dieting is merely an exercise in futility.

Fat around the midsection and the thighs is notoriously difficult to shed and the best way to get rid of it is to make sure that you’re performing some kind of cardio for at least an hour a week.  This may sound like a death sentence but, spread out in three twenty minute sessions a week, it’s highly manageable.

Simply jogging or cycling for twenty minutes straight sometimes isn’t enough though: You’ll need to be sure that your heart rate is elevated enough to be burning calories and raising your metabolism. There are two ways to gauge your heart rate: one way is to get a heart monitor to check your heart rate automatically, and the other way is simply to see if you are sweating during your workouts.

If sweat is coming out of you even after you’ve stopped exercising, you are probably on the right track. Make sure that you also learn the proper healthy foods to eat in addition to all the workouts.

The best way to make sure that you’re burning as many calories as possible is by using some form of “split” routine. Also called “interval training”, split routines are great for getting you through a workout as efficiently as possible.

Split routines are easy; you just start off going at a slow pace for a short time, then kick it into gear for a short time, then go slow again.

Here’s a good example: Let’s suppose you’re running on a treadmill. You’ll want to warm up and then jog for about four minutes at a fairly slow pace. After those four minutes are up, pick up the speed and run hard for about two minutes. Once those two minutes are up you can repeat the circuit until fifteen to twenty minutes have passed.

That’s not the only way you can perform a split routine though. Some people like to use more of the time on the hard part and less time on the slow pace for quicker fat loss.

Some people like to go one minute hard followed by one minute soft while others use the slow portion as rest and focus primarily on the high speed portion. Some people find natural ways to devise a split routine, such as going slowly down a hill and quickly up the hill.

This can be imitated on some treadmills and stationary bikes but it’s just an example and the best routine for you is the one that you’re most likely to stick with.

Now, I’ve showed you some ways that you can shed weight quickly, go and put them to use!

My Secret to Metabolic Repair

Posted on Jan 26, 2010 under Nutrition, Weight Training | No Comment

Low calorie “crash diets” can devastate your metabolic system.Once damaged, you could end up stuck with the body fat you have.

This is called a plateau, where your weight loss stops. No matter what you do, the scale doesn’t reflect any progress. This is not how to lose weight fast.

The good news is that this condition is reversible through the exercising and eating for metabolism. How weight loss is hindered by dieting is a bit ironic.

Patience is required to repair your metabolism, but it is possilbe.

Your metabolism can get boosted with just a couple adjustments. You must be consistent in following these recommendations:

* Eat five or six mini-meals every day. * Eat every 3 hours, making sure you have a big enough breakfast and that you have a good meal after working out.

* Get enough calories: 2100-2500 for men, 1400-1800 for women.

* Eat only healthy, organic, natural foods.* Increase how intense your aerobic exercise is. * Use weight training to gain muscle. This is very important because muscle tissue burns a lot more calories than fat tissue. Look in a weight loss forum for more information.

Your metabolic rate depends on consistency, so you have to be committed to change.Imagine if you tried to heat a room with a fireplace, but never added wood to the fire: this is what your body is like. By consistently feeding your body throughout the day you can keep the fire in your body burning, just as you would do for the fire in the fireplace.

Just as you would never put a whole woodpile on your fire in the fireplace, eating one big meal is something you want to avoid. Your metabolism is like a fire that has gone out. The goal here is to fuel it consistently so it will get fixed and start working for you again.Trying to use starvation to lose fat isn’t ever going to work: that’s why you need to burn it.

3 Great Reasons Why Exercise Helps You Burn Fat Fast, Look Good And Be Healthy

Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under bodyweight exercises, Cardio, muscle building, weight loss, Weight Training | No Comment

Why You Need to Exercise

Exercise needs to be an important part of your life for three reasons

Exercise helps you lose weight

You can go on an x, y or z diet and you may even lose weight on it. However, losing weight by dieting alone can lead to lose skin and poor muscle tone.

And when you do stop your diet and go back to your ‘normal’ foods, you will put on even more weight than before. Exercise helps you burn fat fast.

Exercise helps you lose weight while building muscle. If you are only 20 pounds overweight, you can lose the weight through diet alone, but most of it will be water weight that is lost.

You will also need to eat less. Adding exercise to your diet program will result in more calorie burning power for weight loss.

The result – a slim and fit body in a shorter period of time.

Exercise helps keep illness at bay

Regular exercise increases immunity and keep you from falling prey to irritating illnesses like colds, coughs and headaches. Energized routines such as a cardio workout also benefits your heart.

A more rigorous exercise also keeps cholesterol levels in check and aids other bodily organ functions. Exercise has beneficial effects against deadly diseases like stroke and cancer as well. It also helps you lose weight fast.

As exercise increases the feel good endorphins in the brain, it helps in lowering stress levels as well as the physical and mental problems associated with increased stress, including depression and anxiety and phobias.

Exercise helps you look good

Exercise makes you sweat and a good work out opens the pores. Sweat helps rejuvenate the skin to give you a healthy glow.

You also look younger with exercise as it builds wrinkle reducing collagen in the body. People always notice when you look good and will compliment you on it.

Choosing to exercise outdoors has an added benefit. There’s no substitute for fresh air when it comes to clearing toxins out of your lungs.

If you are out in the morning or afternoon the sunlight helps you not only get a glow on your face (but do use a good sunscreen) but also helps your body assimilate Vitamin D from the sun, thus contributing to bone health.

Why put it off? Good exercise will help you burn fat fast and make you feel great. Incorporate exercise into your life today – don’t wait for tomorrow.

Build Abs Fast – 3 Facts to Remember

Posted on Nov 03, 2009 under Cardio, Dieting, fitness equipment, Nutrition, Weight Training | No Comment

Who wouldn’t want to build abs fast? Seriously. I don’t think I’ve ever met a person who wanted to take things slow as far as building no nonsense 6-pack abdominal muscles go.

We all want to see results FAST, and that’s a given. I’ll tell you right now, there are no magical formulas for it, but achieving ripped abs fast IS very doable. All you need to remember are these 3 simple facts:

1. Burn Fat Fast with a Fast Metabolism.

To increase your metabolic rate, you need to work hard for it. A fast metabolism can provide the drive your body needs to burn more fat. The first thing you need to do to increase your metabolism is to alter your poor eating habits.

A low-fat diet is the first thing you should deal with to build abs fast. Eliminating unhealthy fats and starchy foods will make it easier for your body to crank up your metabolic rate.

Minimize your intake of foods like white rice, pastries, sweets, white bread, and soda because they contain really high amounts of simple sugars and starch. Reading and understanding the labels of the food you buy at the supermarket will give you an idea of what you’re about to consume. The more you pay attention to what you eat, the better your chances are for burning unwanted pounds and building muscle.

2. Burn Fat Fast with Body Heat.

Maintaining a moderately high body temperature during your workout is ideal. Your body stores fat for many reasons, particularly for the insulation of heat. Getting rid of EXCESS fat, however, is absolutely necessary.

Taking advantage of heat properties can help build abs fast. You can do any of the following to ensure that your body is getting the most out of your workout:

  • Wear an insulated exercise shirt under or over your workout clothes.
  • Use abdominal wraps to keep your midsection warm and tight.
  • Use other body wraps (e.g. thighs) to maximize your workout.

Don’t forget to drink plenty of water though to prevent dehydration.

3. Burn Fat Fast with Cardio Workouts.

Nothing speeds up metabolism and gets faster results than cardiovascular exercises. Cardio exercises provide you with a complete body workout. Touching base with every muscle group in your body makes it easier for you to burn excess fat in all areas.

You may not be aware of it, but a lot of your daily activities already involve some cardio. Walking, for instance, is an excellent cardio workout. Walking to work, going up a flight of stairs, and even grocery shopping are very habit-forming and can easily be considered good cardio practices.

Full cardio workouts can definitely build abs fast and up your game, especially when you incorporate targeted abs exercises into your program. Here are some examples of more intense cardio workouts:

  • Running
  • Rowing
  • Swimming
  • Cycling
  • Boxing

Working out isn’t a burden; it’s more of a lifestyle, really. Choose the right food, stay warm during workouts, and exercise regularly. Do that and you will definitely build six pack abs fast.
